Dragonborn

After being returned to their time by the magical birdnado, the adventurers trekked back to the Oasisii. They left Corintha in the tavern with many chickens, and resupplied before speaking to The Bear and Elder Bob. While they were away, the location of the next tower had been discovered, and so the adventurers took off to fight evil once again.

As they started their journey, Baelon suggests to the group that they make a detour. He admits to the group that he has had visions and feels like dragons are near but doesn’t know the exactly where to go. Robin questions him a little but since she had visions of her own, she understands and agrees to detour. The Moirai agrees without hesitation.

They walk for a while in the desert. Eventually they notice a small village in the distance. The Moirai and Robin decide to sneak up and scout the location. As they get closer, they notice (5? 6?) people standing around a bonfire in the middle of town. The Moirai is not as stealthy as Robin, and ends up making enough noise to break her cover. Several people from the bonfire walk up to her and in unison ask “Who are you? What are you doing here? Are you alone?” The Moirai lies, and the figures move in closer. Over and over they repeat the same questions in unison. Robin comes out from the shadows to try and distract the group. As she emerges, one of the figures grabs The Moirai and more figures emerge from the huts and move towards Robin. When they ask her the same questions, “Who are you? What are you doing here? Are you alone?”, she fibs as well, but loudly so Baleon (where ever he is) can hear what’s going on. The hoard grabs Robin like they did the Moirai. Baleon rushes up to see his companions in the grasps of a group of unknown people and kills one of the hoard. All this time, the group continues repeating in unison, “Who are you? What are you doing here? Are you alone?” while the two that are holding The Moirai and Robin continually whisper the questions in their ears. The Moirai, feeling very threatened, uses a fireball from her necklace, kills several of the hoard, and scorches a hut. Robin realizes that the hoard is repeating themselves at set intervals whether they get an answer or not. Deciding to use diplomancy instead of violence, she tells the truth the next time the questions are asked and the hoard leaves. The small group goes back to the bonfire.

One person who appears unaffected comes forward. He claims to be the leader of the community and is seemingly distraught at the damage that has been done to his town and people. After some apologies and quick explanations of their situation, the leader says he knows what the adventurers are looking for and offers to take the group there in the morning. He leads the group to a hut so they can stay the night. Once the group is alone in the hut, Baleon expresses his trepidation about the situation and tells the group he is going to sneak out of the village and continue on their way. The Moirai was not comfortable with the town or its leader either and agrees with Baleon. Robin is not so sure, but Baleon is set on leaving and opens the door. Almost immediately, he turns around and goes back into the hut, saying that he thinks the group should stay and starts taking off his armor. Robin and The Moirai are like whaaaaaattttt no sir. They quickly open the door and see nothing. Baleon can’t be reasoned with and decides to lay down and go to sleep. Robin and The Moirai devise a plan where Robin will sneak around and explore while The Moirai will keep watch at the door of the cabin, looking out for Robin and protecting Baleon.

Suddenly Vampire Harpies fly down from above. The ladies try to fight and resist the harpy’s song for a second but then unfortunately succumb to their will. Robin is compelled to walk closer and closer to the harpy and is bitten with dangerous consequences, losing massive amounts of strength and vitality that will remain permanent if not treated within 24 hours. Baleon finally wakes from his trance at just the right moment to come and help slay the harpies. As they’re about to kill the leader he tells them “you’ll never find it without me”. They question him and decide that the harpy is telling the truth and can lead them to the dragons they’re looking for. They make a deal and set out back into the desert.

Eventually they get to a spot where the harpy stops them and says dig. Baleon keeps his promise to keep the harpy alive since he lead them to the spot (although Robin definitely considers killing the harpy anyways). He leaves as the adventurers start to dig. They break through the roof and drop down several hundred feet into a chamber. The ground is covered in a blanket of discarded bones and keeps seeming to move and shift beneath them. Robin has no trouble traipsing across and quickly runs ahead of the Baleon and the Moirai to steady ground. Once they all get to the edge, the adventurers find their way into a large crypt. Dozens of vaults are carved into the wall on the far side of the room. When they reach the center of the room, a hoard of vampire harpies bigger than in the town descends into the chamber. The original harpy had deceived and betrayed the group and led them into the harpy nest. Robin, afraid to fight because of her diminished strength, starts to back away. At that moment, Baleon realizes he never put his armor back on after awakening from the harpy’s trance and starts to fear the harpies more. He then hears a noise and yells at The Moirai and Robin to jump into the vaults. They jump in just as an ancient brass dragon swoops into the cavern, breathing fire on the harpies, destroying them all. The adventurers emerge unscathed, but in awe of the creature in front of them.

Baleon is overjoyed. He starts talking to the dragon, who reveals that this is indeed his lair, but he moves around a lot and is rarely in one place for a long time. He happened to be travelling back this way and saw the hole in the ground and came to investigate the disturbance. The dragon also divulges that he has been looking for a lost item, and tells the adventurers if they help him find it in his pile of riches. They ask what they are looking for, and all the dragon tells them is that he will know when they find it. They start digging, pulling items out, and having the dragon reject them. Suddenly, Baleon grabs an object and it attaches to his hand the same way the “dagger” attached to Robin’s. When it’s pulled out of the pile, it is revealed to be a great and mighty sword. The dragon gets excited that the object is found but is frustrated when Baleon can’t hand it over. Baleon tells the dragon they know of Mr. The Bear who might be able to help remove the item, and asks the dragon take them back to the Oasisii. The dragon, who isn’t going to leave Baleon’s side until the sword is returned to him, agrees. The adventurers climb upon his back and take off.

While on the dragon’s back, The Moirai whips out her accountants vest and visor and starts going over the loot they kept from the dragon’s lair. She goes into full detail about every single item as she hands them to the appropriate party member. However, there is a lot of wind noise, so Robin and Baleon hear nothing and just smile and nod as things are handed to them. When they reach the Oasisii, the dragon lands in the middle of town and everyone is agape. Elder Bob and Dwayne ‘The Bear’ Johnson come and quickly escort the adventurers past the stunned crowd while the dragon flies to a more secluded part of town. who heals them of their vampire harpy injuries before they caused irreversible damage. The minute they are healed, The Bear After being returned to their time by the magical birdnado, the adventurers trekked back to the Oasisii.
